Play one stringChoose your instrument and play one string at a time. The note and how far off you are appear on the screen.
Follow the needleIf the needle is to the left the note is too low, so tune up. If it is to the right it is too high, so tune down. It turns green when you are in tune.
Tune by earClick a note under Reference notes to hear it, and match your string to it.

Standard tuning for the guitar is E2 A2 D3 G3 B3 E4, for the ukulele G4 C4 E4 A4, for the 4-string bass E1 A1 D2 G2 and for the violin G3 D4 A4 E5. Chromatic mode shows any note you play.

For the best results, tune in a quiet room, play one note at a time and keep the instrument close to the microphone. Change the A4 reference only if you play with others who tune to a different pitch, such as 442 Hz.
